Auntie wants you to think about the way you chat with your friends and significant other. Sometimes, it's what's said that gets lost, misinterpreted, or flings unintended hurtful contempt that cuts deep, but other times, it what's not said.
Hearing your own work critiqued can lead to a knee-jerk reaction filled with defensive indignation. Others obviously didn't understand. You start to explain and try to bring them to a point of agreement, but it doesn't happen. You view the person doing the critique as an idiot--unworthy of being in the same room with your genius and a total waste of your time.
Are one night stands more prevalent now? I'd have to say yes because of the anonymity and simplicity of the hook up. It's like a transaction rather than a date where two people move toward sex. With the hook-up it predetermined. I guess the whole thing with hooking-up is that it seems too easy.
