n the literary world there seems to be a divided acceptance and usage of speech tags. To me, they're sometimes necessary but overall they're over used and redundant.
That's all just a fancy way to say you get together in a room with other writers, you write, and because you don't want to be the only one not writing, you write more. And what happens when you write? Yup, you guessed it--words get on the page and magic will begin to spill out.
Writing something different seems like a cop out because the "job" (ie: the novel, the posts, the articles etc.) aren't getting done but a shift can perhaps provide the break you need.
